Our greatest fear should not be of failure, but of succeeding at things in life that don’t really matter.
— Francis Chan

With notable career achievements spanning television, film, radio, and digital media platforms, still my most fulfilling successes stem from my role as an educator - making lasting impressions on the minds of the next generation.

I started teaching in 2008, and discovered pretty quickly that my heart is helping adolescents better understand their relationship with media.

Through Global Citizenship, Societies & Institutions, Journalism, News Writing, Media Writing, Project Development, Media Production, Media Literacy is the one subject that makes its way into everything I teach.

I played an instrumental role in launching Media Literacy Week in the United States in 2015. A few years later, I launched The iSpeakMedia Foundation as a platform for advancing media literacy as a way of life. Now I’m making my way into communities across the country, helping families navigate our media dominant culture in a healthy way. Together, we learn to reset the impact of our media interactions through the lens, language, and lifestyle of media literacy.
