Our greatest fear should not be of failure, but of succeeding at things in life that don’t really matter.
— Francis Chan

With notable career achievements spanning television, film, radio, and digital media platforms, still my most fulfilling successes stem from my role as an educator - making lasting impressions on the minds of the next generation.

I started teaching in 2008, and discovered pretty quickly that my heart is helping adolescents better understand their relationship with media.

Through Journalism, News Writing, Media Writing, Project Development, Media Production, Media Literacy is the one subject that makes its way into everything I teach.

In 2018, I launched The iSpeakMedia Foundation, as a platform for advancing media literacy education with communities that need it most. I am a member of the Chicago Literacy Alliance and played an instrumental role in launching Media Literacy Week in the United States in 2015.

My goal is to help reset the impact of media consumption and elevate the level of media literacy in this country… and wherever else in the world they’ll have me.
